The boys JV basketball team defeated a tough Wilson Tiger team last night 50-36. At the end of regulation, the score was tied 36 - 36. The Seahawks proceeded to score 14 unanswered points in the overtime to clinch their 12th victory of the season. Coleman Martini lead the scoring with 16 points followed by Brooks Swanson and Malik Waring with 7; Anthony McNeil and Tysheem Lewis added 6 points each. The boys are now 12-0 on the year and 6-0 in region play. Their next game is Monday at home against Socastee. Girls start at 6:00 with boys playing right after them. Come out and support your JV Seahawk basketball teams.
This is the last call for second semester Driver Education. If you have not signed up with Coach Christy by the end of the day Friday, you will not be allowed to enroll.

The date for the Winter Formal has been set for Saturday, January 28. Come out and have a ball! It will be hosted at Malibu's at Broadway at the Beach. It will start at 7 p.m. and the cost of admission will be $5 and a canned good donation. Any questions, see your student government representative.
Students if you are bringing someone that does not attend MBHS to the Winter Formal you must have prior approval. Applications are available at the Welcome Desk.
Students planning to participate in Spring sports are reminded that you must have a valid physical on file in the athletic training room by Monday, January 30, in order to participate in tryouts. Girl's soccer try-outs will start on Monday, January 30, at 3:45 pm at the stadium. Please wear tennis shoes and bring your soccer cleats.
Attention all girls who are interested in trying out for softball. Tryouts and practice will be held starting Monday, January 30, at 3:45 on the Seahawk softball field. You must have a physical in order to participate. Dress warmly -- any questions see Coach Jiorle.
It's that time again to be Freezin for a Reason. Tickets will be on sale during all three lunches through January 31.
MBHS juniors who have registered for either the ACT or the SAT have the opportunity to attend a workshop presenting strategies for success on both the ACT and the SAT college entrance exams. The workshop will be presented at St. James High School on February 9, and will last all day. Transportation will be provided. Students interested in participating should see Mrs. Cribb in D211 or Ms. Alexander in A202 to sign up. Only 40 seats are available. Seats will be awarded first to those who are registered for a February or March test. Those not registered for a test will be placed on a waiting list and informed on February 6 if they clear the list.
Josten's will be here February 6 for a presentation to Sophomores about class rings. We will have a brief assembly during tutorial time in the auditorium. Ring orders will be taken February 9 during all lunches until 6:00 p.m. For more information-see Mr. McQueen. Seniors who have not purchased Senior Supplies can also see a Josten's representative at that time.
